A Stargazing Cosmic Escape Just 100 km from Delhi

Discovering a place where the stars shine bright might be a rare pleasure in the busy metropolis of Delhi. But the charming village close to Rewadi, around 100 miles from the capital, is only a short drive away and provides a tranquil haven for those who enjoy stargazing.

My friend Anup Singh and I recently traveled to Rewadi to go stargazing, joining a group of other photographers and astronomers who were excited to see the beauties of the night sky. We had a secure and comfortable stargazing adventure because one of our group friends kindly donated his farmhouse as our headquarters.

The peacefulness of the area as we approached the farmhouse gave us a sneak peek at the wonderful evening that was ahead. That night, with the moon not there, the stars would shine even brighter, providing an amazing show of stars.

Away from the village lights, which frequently impede attempts to see stars, our group set up cameras. Our experience peering into the cosmos was enhanced by the telescopes that a few of our friends had brought.

We saw some amazing sights in the night sky, like Jupiter, Saturn, and distant galaxies, thanks to telescopes. But what made the night truly special was the new friendships we made in the nearby village of Rewadi. Sharing experiences and joy with like-minded people made the evening unforgettable.

We were all too tired to sleep as the night went on. The grandeur of the night sky enthralled us, and we wanted to savor every second of this unique opportunity. We realized that our night beneath the stars in Rewadi was drawing to an end as the first rays of dawn started to appear.

Though we knew the memories of our astronomy excursion would last a lifetime, we reluctantly packed away our gear. Even though this is a small community, there are great treasures up in the skies for those who are ready to look up and investigate.
